Okay... so I just have to ask.. and maybe this is TMI... BUTTT
I read a lot how people say we're not really "trying", but we're not really careful.... and I find myself thinking... what exactly does that mean?? I'm gonna add a pole, so people dont get embarrased... but if you arent using any type of BC wouldnt that kinda be trying? Or does it mean that you arent charting/temping... etc... I'm confused! LOLOL

Altough we are actively TTC.
When people say that they aren't being careful. I take it as they may not be actively TTC (charting, temping etc.). They are just BD, enjoying BD and IF they get PG, they will be just as happy. But if they dont get PG, they are cool with that too.

This is what my friend did. No BC but no charting or anything like that. They were 'just rolling the dice' and fine if they got pregnant or not. They did, and they are so happy, but I'm sure if it had taken longer that would have ok too. I don't think it always means people pray that they won't, its just a less controlled situation.

I think it just means that they arent using condoms, BCP, whatever. They arent taking "preventative measures" but they also arent consciously doing the deed for the sole reason to make a baby.

I am not actively trying, but not preventing.
For us it means, no charting, just BDing for enjoyment. If we get PG, that is WONDERFUL, if we don't, we aren't upset about it, when it happens it happens. When we are ready to actively try, we will probably BD from day 10 on.

well you can chart your cycle and if you BD when you are not ovulating you should be "safe"....this is the natural birth control method

This is what we do now! I hate hormonal BCP's, and condoms are for dating people
ETA: When we were TTC, we just BD'd for fun, especially in DH's eyes. He didn't want to be treated as a piece of meat who makes a baby. I knew exactly what was going on with my body, cause I charted so BD were planned even though I let him "think" he ran the show
