So I have to share the results of Teacher Appreciation Week at my school...
First, I have to say that the teachers in my school have been to hell and back this year with so much aggravation and crap that I thought nothing would lift everyone's spirits. But I was luckily wrong. The Parents' Association must have noticed we were all a little less enthused this year than normal because they really took care of us this week. Monday, we got a hot breakfast and a pot with seeds and soil and a little poem, Tuesday we got an AMAZING lunch like I've never seen before. It had salmon and chicken and everything under the sun. We also got beach chairs with our school's logo on it. Wednesday, they had wraps and salads for lunch, then chocolate covered strawberries and a whole load of amazing desserts for us. Thursday we came in and on our desks were piles of books that the parents purchased for our classrooms from our wish lists! PLUS we had amazing snacks again, plus an ice cream sundae bar. Then yesterday, we came in and one of our student's, his parents own an IHOP, so they had a hot breakfast from IHOP waiting for the teachers and then in the afternoon, we got personalized candy bars with a really nice thank you written to us on them and also an amazing cake thanking us for all our hardwork. All week long there were different parents there to serve us the food and thank us for all we've done all year. It was so nice to feel appreciated.

Very nice.
When I worked in private school the treatment was amazing! Our faculty room looked like the Oak Room amazing food and the moms wouldn't let us carry our books once we entered I'm so glad your parents appreciate all of the hard work you do.
Since I now teach in public school... the second LOWEST paid in Nassau county yet test results in the top 25% I may add... NOTHING, not even a bagel from the parents We are on contingency this year. Come Tuesday's vote I'm sure it will be the same. God help us with contract negotiations All they do is complain how much money we make.
