I went to my new doctor last night for my first sonogram
Some of you might remember a few months ago when I asked about switching doctors. I had been going to a female doctor (she works in a small office with just her husband) on the upper east side near my apartment. When I moved to NJ, I felt I should have a doctor closer to my house. I still work in the city but I want a doctor closer to home. Also, I never really felt comfortable in her office for some reason. Like she was doing me a favor for being my doctor in a way.
I just have to say how refreshing it is to go to a nice office with many doctors who actually treat you well! Not that I was treated poorly at my NYC doctor per say but I never went there and didn't wait over an hour. They had a really small office and I always felt rushed. My doctor never took the time to get to know me and for some reason I felt judged. I went to the nicest doctor last night who really explained everything. Hey, he night do this about 20 times a day but this is my first time!DH came in with me which was a little weird since the sonogram was internal. Once he put the wand in (sorry if TMI!), anmd was against the uterus (I think!), we saw the baby. I kept saying, is that it? And also, are you sure it;s only 1!  Of course we would be blessed with multiples but it would just be a big shock! I wanted to know what I was getting myself into! He described everything we were looking at and the baby kept moving his arms and legs. At one point it looked like he was waving at us! I measured 11 weeks, 1 day which is exactly what I had thought. It was really so cool to see.
I don't have a scanner so I can't show you the pics of my baby right now but I will hopefully get one this weekend.

Thank you, we are so happy. Now that we saw the baby, it is all the more real!

Congrats ! It is amazing to see, I had 12 week sono last night, just amazing.
It is GOOD that you switched Dr.'s you should feel confortable with him / her.

Definitely sounds like you made right choice. It is so nice when the doctor really cares about you and the baby. I love my doctor, it is so important to have one who you really like.
