I didn't take HPT until I was 7 days late. I was on the pill and it wasn't until I started a new pack that I thought it was odd that I didn't get my period. I missed AF a few times before and the doctor told me it was probably stress, so I assumed it was stress of wedding and settling into our normal lives.
I would give it a few more days and test again. If after 7 days, I'd assume you weren't pg. Have you been stressed at all or been on sick or on medication? It explain the missed period.

I was one day late. I knew I was pg because my boobs were killing me. Did you take the test with your first morning urine? The hormone is a lot stronger in the morning, so that may be something to try.

I did that again this morning and still neg. DH keeps staring at me and waiting to know either way. So one more question I promise. Should I still start my pills on sunday? I just wish it would come. My mother thinks I am. She is very strange with PG women. She will see a lady in the mall not showing and ask are you PG (they are) and just look at her. Ah who knows thanks ladies for all the info.
I would wait on taking the pill and test again on Sunday morning. How late are you?
ETA: I just saw you are 3 days late. you can get a false neg. at 3 days late. Give it a little more time.

3 days late on the first pregnancy, test was positive.
1 or 2(?) days late on second, test was positive.
Both times I pretty much knew I was pregnant before hand. I have no sense of smell and suddenly could smell things. Pregnancy #1, my boobs were beyond sore, Pregnancy #2 I was exhausted - all before I tested.
eta. I agree on waiting to take the pill. If it were me by Sunday if I didn't get a postive test or AF, I would call my ob & go for a blood test.

What brand of pills are they?
When I was on Estrostep I would have months here & there where I would completly miss AF.... & not preggers.

Then I pee'd in a cup & took the test that way. Then I got my positive
