Re: can there be "too much" communication in a relationship?

DH and I are both such analytical people that we talk things to death all the time. Sometimes it's not such a good thing because it's takes us longer to resolve disputes but really communication is a good thing and while I do feel there is a such thing as talking something to death, I don't think there can be "too much" communication in a relationship.

Communication like this is important and very good to have in a relationship. It's also therapeutic (IMO) when you can talk to someone like that.

i def agree with what ur saying...the only thing i hate is that i feel like in one respect when u talk about something over and over and over it puts ideas and worries in ur head that u never even originally had?

Ooh...I know what you mean about that. Well, even those new ideas and worries should then be discussed. It helps you get to know each other better. Now you're talking about really opening up to the person... it might take some time before you are ready to open up about certain things, and that's okay too.

It sounds like you are talking about something specific that he may have said though... and without knowing that, I could be totally off right now! Chat Icon

Re: can there be "too much" communication in a relationship?

yes i am def. referring to something specific that happened.... i had a convo with my bf..nothing major just kinda casual on the topic of sex/relationships and such... it was a general convo..not something in regards to OUR sex life or relationship specifically and he made a comment that really suprised me... so i just sometimes feel like... the more u talk talk talk and try to get entry to someones brain and how they think..the less i wanna know LOL Chat Icon

Okay I see what you mean... but I would straight up ask him about it. The reasoning behind it will give you a better idea of who he is. That sounds like one of those things that I would not just drop!! Chat Icon

But I can understand how you might not want to know anymore! Chat Icon
