Updated, another question in first post please read.what do you pay for an in home day care perosn

I am not talking state run family day care i am talking an individual person you use. Please tell me if you dont mind how much you pay and how many hours week you use them for and is this a friend of the family type thing where you are getting a deal or just a regular day care perosn? yuou can fm if you dont wnat to post. TIA

Updated Question: I have been lookign aorund at day care centers teh average of teh threei have seen so fasr has been $1000 for 5 days 8 hours. I was thinking of offering the person $1000 a month for four days and i would pay for those days i was off so like i said 1000 flat rate per month but that also means if i stay late for my monthly meeting at work i am not paying extra for that or if i get stuck in traffic i will not pay extra.Ids this fair? Too much? too little? I hink it comes to a little sless than 8 an hour and of course this is off the books

Do you mean in their home or in yours? I bring my son one day a week to a lady who watches kids in her house. I actually found her through Stacy (ScottyandCassidy'smom), and I'm very pleased.
ETA: I pay $45 for a 9 hour day

I pay $50 dollars a day. I also have to bring my own food. She is wonderful though.

I send my daughter to a neighbor's house 2-3 days a week and pay 8.00/hourly. I do not pay a flat fee. She doesn't get paid for school holidays, days I am off, or the summer. If my husband or I get off early she doesn't get paid for the time that the baby is not there. My daughter is the only child she watches. I hope this info helps you!

Hate to say it, but to bring a woman/man into your house to watch your kids, the cheapest i could find so far was $400 a week for one baby. Most of the time they require to be paid even when you are off too.

Expecting to pay a $1,000 a month is low in my opinion.

Also, if you bring your baby to someones' hosue you most probably will be required to provide that person with diapers/food so just be aware of that.

i woud bering teh bay to her every day ( 4 days aweek) it would be about 32 hrs a weeks o she wanted 10 an hour so it woud be 320 a week or 1280 amnth niw if i offer her 1000 and of course i provide everyting then its 280 less than she was asking amonth but it is off teh books to she has to remeber that no?

And if i piad eher flat erate as a teacher i am usually workling three weeks a month most months ( well this would be form dec to june) so in december, february and april its three weeks a months because of teh breakas. so if you clculated teh amount it would be more than 8 an hour whioch is what i figured it out to be about. any other opinions? thansk fforyour input Ali I apprecite it.Chat Icon

If you are going to pay her as you would pay a school, then what you want to do is perfectly fine in my opinion.

We have a flat rate for a certain number of hours per day. This includes days off, vacations, sick days. If you are going to keep it a flat rate even when you have vacation, then a couple of extra hours here and there due to meetings and/or traffic, shouldnt be a problem. Like you said, its clear money, off the books and I know at my center, you just pay a flat rate no matter what. It sounds do-able to me.
