New Jersey ticket!!!!!!
Okay, as a New Yorker I am not aware of EVERY traffic law for every state but today I was in NJ and didnt realize where I was had jughandle u turns. I followed a car in front of me and made a left. The cop follows me and turns on his lights. I am now hysterical crying pleading not to give me a tixx but he tells me I shouldnt have made this turn. The whole area was full of construction so it was very hard to see where turns were etc... I was told to fight the ticket but then again...I would have to go to NJ. Is it worth it at all to fight this ticket? If its not a speeding ticket do you still get points on your license?

Re: New Jersey ticket!!!!!!
I hope you are right because the points is what I dont want. I havent had a ticket in like 5 yrs and do not want to take def driving. The violation reads Illegal Uturn. It could be for 85 the lowest. not sure of the exact amount...I have to call.

I know in NY that doesn't give u points but NJ may have different rules. go on a search engine and look for NJ motor vehicles or for state points

Re: New Jersey ticket!!!!!!
Thanks so much for your help. I went on that website and found this....
The NYSDMV does not record out-of-state violations committed by NYS drivers in other jurisdictions. The exceptions are alcohol-related violations, drug-related violations, and moving violations committed in Quebec or Ontario. Under special agreements, traffic convictions in Quebec or Ontario are recorded on NYS driver license records and carry points. Except for violations in Ontario and Quebec, points are not added to your NYS record for out-of-state violations.
so I think I am in the clear on points. I may just pay the 85 because then I would have to pay all those tolls to go back plus miss a days work.
