Re: Spinoff on reading:

My favorite book is Like Water for Chocolate. It is a love story, but not mushy, more passionate (not sexual).

Others I've liked:

Memoirs of a Geisha
The Davinci Code
The Devil Wears Prada
The Wedding

Re: Spinoff on reading:

Here are some that stick out in my mind:

Blood Orange
The Dive from Clauson's Pier
Surrender, Dorothy
The Way the Crow Flies
Fall on Your Knees

There are lots of classics that i loved, some being Anna Korenina, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice.

Or, you can start with easy fun reads like the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series..I am addicted to them!!

Re: Spinoff on reading:

These are all a bit older, but still good.

The Mists of Avalon
Angels and Demons (I liked it better then Davinci Code, but both are entertaining)
Attonement
A Widow for One Year
American Pyscho (I enjoyed it, but it is graphically violent and disturbing)
High Fidelity
Peace Like a River
A Prayer for Owen Meany

Anything by Phillippa Gregory! She is amazing!!

For girly books- anything by Marion Keyes. She is an Irish writer who writes about Irish women in NYC, London or Ireland. THey are really funny.

I just read Can you Keep A Secret by Sophie Kensella. It was a cute, quick read.

I also loved Red Tent and anything by Barbara Kingslover.

ETA: I have 7 books on hold for me at the library that I am picking up today. I will let you know if anything is really good.

I just read that for my book club. Great book!! I just didn't realize how sad it would be. But very good- so well written.
