Re: newborn size?
We just went with 0-3 month size, which Sarah wore until she was 2 months old. In the beginning we just rolled up the sleeves.

Re: newborn size?
I got 2 or 3 newborn sizes from my shower, I went out a got a few more newborn sleepers. Many people just stick with the 0-3 months, if the baby id big he/she may not even fit into newborn clothing. The outfit we chose for her to come home in I made sure we got newborn, even if she's 10 pounds it will fit snuggly.

Re: newborn size?
We did 0-3 for the going home outfit. It was big on her, but we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl and my girlfriend had just had an almost 11lb boy so I didn't want to have a too small outfit.
Dont' stress out, they look cute no matter what they are in anyway.
