Rental cars in Orlando...

Does anyone know where a good place to rent a car would be in Orlando?

We're going then too! Til the 8th actually! LOL Where are you going/staying? We're doing Universal and SeaWorld.

Anyway, we got $99.99 for an economy week rental through U Save car rentals. I looked ALL over (I am so obsessive compulsive about vacation planning) and this was the best deal.

The Universal tickets are slightly cheaper if you order online before you go.

Re: Rental cars in Orlando...

I wanted to do SeaWorld, but it's just costing us a fortune already. I really wanted to take my son there. I thought he'd love to see the animals. Chat Icon

I REALLY want to go back Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. It's just going to be hard for us to enjoy most of the things because we're going to have our son with us and he's only 21 months and it's just going to be me and my DH. My sister will be with us some of the time, but hardly at all.

We're also going to Disney. She's getting us into the parks for FREE. She works there.

Is it just your DH and yourself going or do you have your whole family going?

We're staying at Fairfield Orlando at Star Island. It's a timeshare resort that my brother got us a discount rate for the week. It's in Kissimmee.

When are you going to Universal? I haven't figured out what we're going to do and on what days.

Just me and DH. LOL but we're kids at heart...He totally wanted SeaWorld! We're doing the two day/2 pass for Universal/Islands of Adventure, then SeaWorld, and seeing relatives 2 days. Staying at the Wyndham Palace and Hampton Inn. Maybe we'll see you there! Good luck--here's hoping for some good weather!

ETA: I think we may do Universal the 5-6...SeaWorld the 4th?

I would use National - that is who we use. Do NOT use alamo - they get bad reviews.

Check out this site for codes/discounts.

I own with Fairfield and have stayed at the Star Island resort. It is so nice..... There's so much to do. Your son will love it. It really close to everything. Disney was less than a 10 min drive.

Have you tried Hotwire.com to rent the car? I use them and usually get pretty good rates from them. You dont know who you're renting from until you prepay for it. But they only rent from the major companies like Avis, Hertz, Budget and Alamo/National.

I did a search on Hotwire and got the following rates:
Mid-size $21.95/day
standard $23.95/day
Full size $26.95/day
SUV $40.95/day

Re: Rental cars in Orlando...

Also keep in mind that most car rentals are in the airport but there are a few where you have to get on a shuttle and take a 5 minute drive to get the car.

So check to make sure your car rental is ON airport Property since you'll have a little one with you.

Re: Rental cars in Orlando...

We usually rent from Dollar @ the Orlando Airport- they have pretty good rates- better than Hertz & Avis which are both the most expensive.

WE used Alamo last time we went and were very happy. They were cheap and super accomodating.
