Since this bd. has more traffic... fence question

So we finally decide on a fence company, and we were originally leaving the existing corral fence, but the rest of the fence surrounds my property, I live on a corner, and my Dad who used to own this home before me and DH, (He has since passed), had put up the fence. We are leaving the corral fence all the way around the propeery, but want to take it down along the back , the fence is on the property line, and I have the surveyors papers to prove it, do I still have to let my neighbors know I am doing this? The fence company says I should, I do not want to and almost feel like I am asking them permission.... which I do not have to in my opinion, they added a 2nd floor extension about 10 years ago, and my dad was not too thrilled but could not do anything about this. All last summer and I have even caught them again they were playing football on my lawn to the point where DH told them very nicely to stay on there own lawn. My lawn looked trampled.... I want my privacy and I do not want these kids all over my lawn where they do not belong. I do not care if a ball went in my yard, it happens, I love children, but playing football into my yard is just not right, and my garden was trampled when I came home from vacation last summer, and I think they were picking my veggies out of my garden, and found my BBQ in the safety mode too a few years back. These parents have parties all summer and don't care what there kids are up to. , They are also not the freindliest people in the world. So my question is, if it is on my property line, do I need to inform them of the new fence? We also are putting in new shrubs too and want to protect them from these kids ruining them.

You tell them out of common courtesy.
Our neighbors to the left are getting a new fence, even though the current fence is ours it was nice to know what was about to go on.
You are not asking them permission or anything like that rather informing them. Do they have dogs or any other animals that are fenced in?
If so, I find it especially important for you to tell them.

No, no animals, 2 teenage kids. I was thinking of telling them the day before ... they did not even tell us until the day before they got there extension.

Its the neighborly thing to do. I dont see how the extension can be compared to the fence?
It's not the same thing AT ALL. Sounds to me that you want to be a bit spiteful for something that happened ten years ago. If so, go for it.

You really dont owe your neighbors an explanation. Its your yard and you do what you want...however DebG does have a point, if the installers need to step foot on your neighbors property then you should just inform them.

You might want to check your town code - in many places, you can't put a fence directly on the property line, you might have to be 5 to 10 feet away from it.

I would tell them out of courtesy, but you aren't really required to.

Checked the code with a lawyer who does real estate, my BF husband, I can put it on the property line, and also get the nicer side of the fence. They will not be on there side at all, and they will cut there overgrown bushes that are on my side as well. I think DH is going to go over and tell them in a very nice way that there will be workers on such and such a date. I am not a spiteful person, just so angry to always have my lawn trashed by there kids and there friends. I can also put up a max of 4 ft high fence.
