Solids food and spit up

Ryan is at the point where he wants EVERYTHING we have-

Im majorly paranoid- but do allow him to have small pieces of certain things...

like:
pancakes
ice cream
REALLY SOFT macaroni
pieces of turkey
cheese
pieces of chicken
mashed pot.
along with a few others...

My question is- I notice that after he has some reg. food- he seems to spit up a little (not throw-up, but spit up- like goo) He expresses no discomfort- and frankly if I didnt find it on his clothes, or my carpet... I wouldnt even know he spit up....

Is this normal? Why is this happening? Should I stop giving him table food????

Tonight for instance, we were at a b-day party- so everyone was feeing him something off their plate...

He had some ziti (however I took the cheese off, and most of the sauce) some bread, some chicken, and cake....
and he spit up this goo (like clear with a little color of whatever he ate) 3 times.... (its a little amount)

He was a spit up baby until he was 6 months old... so just like it took his belly use to keep his formula down- is it the same thing w/ real food??

Ds is 9 months old...TIA

I wish I knew - Sara is queen of spit up. I dont even bother changing my clothing anymore when she spits up on me or I would change all the time. I would think yes he has to get used to it but I am not sure

Joseph does it too sometimes - it's more mucousy - right? I don't think it's anything serious..

It's probably just their bellies adjusting - for everything that he's eating the one or 2 times he spits up I don't really worryChat Icon

Re: Solids food and spit up

I've noticed that Christopher will spit up solids if he either a)eats it a little too quickly or b) is extremely active after eating it. Otherwise, we don't have any issues. We frequently give him little pieces of what we're eating.

I notice Miranda spits up sometimes when she gets table food but I keep giving her things figuring she'll get used to it eventually. I wouldn't worry. I give her things with cheese on it too since she takes yougurt I figure cheese is fine.
