Getting a very quick passport?
My wonderful DH just lost his wallet with his license!!! 
And we are supposed to go to Aruba early Sat am.
Is there anywhere you can get a passport in a day?

Yes, in Manhattan and for an additional fee. Also, I believe, in CT. I'm just not sure of exact location - sorry.

does he have his birth certificate, that has a raised seal? its easier to get that and go to motor vehicle and get a new license then to get a passport quickley

I did once, in Stanford,CT. The office is attached to a huge mall. But you have to have everything in by noon,in order to come back for the passport in afternoon.Also you must prove you are traveling in 48 hours so bring your tickets.
Tomorrow morning bright and early is your only chance. Isn't there a way DMV can issue a replacement license in a day?

yes you can go some place in manhattan not exactly sure where though. one of my co-workers had an emergency last week to go to Ecuador for a funeral and she needed to get her son a passport. she told me that she had to go to manhattan. i'm not sure how much the cost

He does, but you need a birth certificate and a goverment issued photo id to get in/out of Aruba.

I am going to call DMV, but I think the problem there is you get the temporary one without a picture. Then the picture ID, which he needs to fly, is mailed to you.

I agree,especially these days with all the new regulations because of terrorism,its such a pain to get a new passport in a jiffy.

I think you can go here. I'm not 100% percent sure so you may want to call. He can get the passport the same day. Tell him to bring a copy of the police report that he filed for his lost wallet. This should help in expedite it.

We brought the airline ticket, every identification card imaginable. Tell him if he has a photo id for anything - bring them all.
For our HM (2000), we had to wait bc the ticket agent wouldn't allow the 7 id cards he had w/o a picture, or the fact that I was willing to verify his identity (I'm a notary too). Instead what she accepted was a faxed version of DH's junior high school yearbook picture.
Got it in 1 day.
Get there early - we were one of the first ones in.

He went to DMV and got a new license, but as we thought it is just the paper copy, and the picture one is mailed from Albany.
We called one of the rush passport places in the city and if he goes there today, he can pick it up tomorrow evening. He has to come home, get the airline tickets to prove he is traveling and then go into the city. And I would have to go with him to vouch for him, since he doesn't have a current license.
He wants to go get the passport, I am saying don't bother, I really feel like everything happens for a reason...and maybe there is some reason I should not be going!

Let him get the passport...you may not be going on another vacation for some time with the baby coming...go and enjoy it!
