realtor.com and pick up real estate magazines. and check local realtor sites, coldwell, prudential, remax....etc

There are local MLS websites depending on where you buy. I know when we decided to move to Rockland or Orange County we found our house on www.ghvmls.com

Other than MLSLI, I used to check the real estate company websites directly for anything on exclusive listings that won't appear on MLSLI.
Check your yellow pages (or online) for the realtors in the area you are interested in and then go on their websites.
I used to check Century 21, Prudential, Netter, Coldwell Banker, Coach, Weichert are the ones I can think of.
