We took ours with our Lamaze class right before Christmas.

what exactly do you do during this tour? do all hospitals offer it? my dr hasnt mentioned this to me yet.

We toured the hospital, the labor & delivery room, hospital policies, went over the admitting procedures, different classes that are held, etc. We met some of the L&D nurses.
One of them asked me how far along I was - I said I was due in late October. She said "Nope that's a September baby." Sure enough, 4 days later we were back having the baby.
It's not necessary but pretty helpful.
