She just won't nap longer than that unless she is curled up in my arms or next to me. She definitely won't go in the crib for longer than that. She's 4 1/2 month sold now and I feel she need longer naps for her development. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? I'm desperate at this point!

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone. My nine month old has always been a short napper, and nothing I have tried has made a difference. Some babies are just power nappers.

As long as you are sure nothing is interupting the naps (noise, light, etc) then don't worry about development. Baby's naps may extend naturally on their own!

My daughter was a thirty minute naper you could set your watch by it. But in the last 2 weeks she has started with at least one of them being an hour to hour and a half. She is now 8 months old. We had asked the doctor and he said she is fine. Some babies are just like that and as long as she is sleeping through the night don't worry. She may start this a little later like my daughter.

This is going to sound SO ridiculous but Jared takes longer naps when I cover him up with a blanket around his face. I cover him over the side of his face (covering his ear) and he sleeps for a hour, instead of his half hour naps. It may be silly, but I think it works for him.Chat Icon
