Are there any legit companies on L.I. where you can do work out of your home?

Hi All. I just recently been laid off from my job and we are also in the process of buying our first home. Talk about timing.

Anyway, I'm going back to school in January to finally pursue my dream to become an elementary school teacher. Because life is so expensive, I pretty much have to work full time and go to school part time in the evenings which is going to take me years. I figured being I will be collecting unemployment, I thought I could possibly find some work that I could do at home to where I can make decent/ok money so I can attend classes during the day. Maybe something administrative?? My husband would love to take care of us, but he just can't.

Also, does anyone know if unemployment offers any school/work programs? I've been trying to get through to them on the phone and the recording keeps telling me to call back later. TIA
