no- I really couldn't ( no space)- the furniture is not my taste at all- but my Aunt is taking the living room and dining room - which my Mom spent the most time designing

my sister took the kitchen table and a few other things for her new apartment

I took some LLadro and other decorative peices- but nothing major

I need to ask my Dad what he is doing with all the pictures and photo albums

it's so strange-

Re: my brother is trading in my moms car tommorrow

my dad is still driving the car that my mother bought as her last gift to herself. the payments are 700 a month but he refuses to trade it in for something more affordable!!! by the time she bought it, she was too sick to drive it so the only time she rode in the car was to doctor's appointments. i feel like it is full of bad memories and i wish he would give it up. sometimes i think holding on to things of hers just makes it harder. jmo

my Mom also got a brand new car less then a year before she passed- it was a red mountainer ( she woke up from 2 weeks of being unconcious and asked for it- and my dad didn't want to deny her)

but it's not a common color - we didn't like my Dad driving it- he traded it in with in a week-

now when I see one on the road- I feel like it's a sign from her- or her saying hi- b/c the car was so rare

but I am glad I don't have to see it all the time at my house

I completely understand. When my Dad sold my Mom's car I was devistated. I have this HUGE problem with being sooo emotionally attached to objects it's horrible.

Re: my brother is trading in my moms car tommorrow

I actually have my dads 2005 Subaru at my house now. I am using it because I am waiting for a title for my new car....

I am so happy that I can drive it and at the same time it makes me so sad.

Just the other day I opened one of the pockets in the car to find a note from a day that him and I were to have lunch....It was just a piece of paper that said Scott's 1pm for lunch.

So sad that I am never going to see him write another note to me, or to go to lunch with him again.

It feels good to be able to drive his car though.....and I am sure he would be ok with it too.

I told him the other day that I was driving it when i went to see him in the hospital. I wish he could of answered me.....He is on Morphine now to keep him comfortable. He is in hospice care.....

Re: my brother is trading in my moms car tommorrow

It's crazy how attached we get to "things". Just another thing that we do to help ourselves feel BETTER. We'll try anything. But having these thing really can help us feel better for the moment, huh? For instance, I feel good getting into my car each day with the beaded necklace my Mom made my Dad while they were dating hanging from the mirror. I feel like she's kinda with me.
