Average cost for painting?
how much does a painter typically cost? i was quoted $5000 for 2000 square feet? That seems really high to me.

Well - we paid 17k for a 4000 square foot house - but this included A LOT of new moldings which needed to be caulked (which adds a lot to the cost). I dont think that the quote you got is too high.

My brother knows someone who did three rooms with Faux marble in some rooms for about $1000. The did a great job with the windows and moldings as well!!
