PPl who have dogs home alone
When we are not home, Denver and Holden are gated off in the kitchen area with their beds, some toys, food, and water. Any suggestions for some good "toys" or activities I can leave them so they do not get bored? TIA!

When Katie and Annie are together I always give them a rope toy because they like to play tug of war.
When I am at work I just give Katie lots of things to chew on and cross my fingers that she isn't eatting the molding. I leave the radio and AC on for her too which is why my LIPA bill was so damn high this month!

Daniela I am home all day and the truth is -- dogs SLEEP when they are alone. Honestly -- we have a web cam too and it isn't jusy Ebony, just about all dogs spend their time alone sleeping. My sister's 2 dogs are the same way - that's all they do!!

our dog has a big tub full of toys...usually by the time DH came home the toys were all over the house...he used to leave a raw hide or two for her to chew on.

Casey has this rubber football with tons of little holes in it...we stuff it with cheese or treats and she spends a while rolling it around and trying to get the food out!

Funny story -- we used to leave on a "Relaxing Puppy" CD. We came home one day, and Denver had hopped the gate to the living room (it has since been replaced with a higher one), somehow gotten the CD out of the boom box, and was chewing on the CD Guess he didn't like the music

Rocky has free reign of the house and pretty much just sleeps all day on top of the couch by the window and waits for someone to get home.
Toys are unplayed with. Food untouched. Water lever is sometimes a little lower.
So i really doubt they;ll be bored...They should probably sleep or play with each other.

I understand.... Since there are 5 people in this house, the longest Rocky ever is home alone is also 3 hours... My dad works early. My moms a nurse and only works 3 days a week.
And evening he tags along with my father no mater where he goes
But really, I dont think you should feel guilty...They'll catch up on their sleep and be extra crazy and playful when you get home
When I come home after work, he wont leave me alon for at least half an hour jumping and licking and stuff

What is it about that?! Misty does the same thing - pillows can be victims too, but it has to be the tiniest hole to remove the stuffing from.

My dog loves to watch tv all day. Anything from animal planet to ER. Something about the flashing lights in the beginning of ER he loves. He also enjoys Yankee games, I think it is the Affleck duck. But he would rather have tv than anything else.

I swear the KONG toys are a godsend for leaving the dog home. JD is home for about 9 hours a day... he has free reign so i fill up the 3 kongs throughout the house and it keeps him entertained
