Baptism question..godparent not present.
Did anyone's baby get baptized with a stand in for the real godparent? I want to baptize the baby asap and don't want to have to work around people's wishy washy scheduling.

Neither of my 2 kids, but my one aunt stood in for another aunt who couldn't make the Baptism because she lives in Alaska when my little sister was baptized.

thanks! the godmother will probably be there, but the possible godfather has an ever changing schedule(he lives in MI)

My sister did this. Her son's godfather couldn't make it the day of the baptism so he had a "proxy" stand in for him.
