Work Related question.... need opinions

I am wondering I am too sensitive or do I have a right to be aggraveted/****** off.

Issue #1
I have been married for nearly 8 months, changed my name about 2 months after, my boss still messes it up. Intially I told him how it was said. 8 months later he still fouls it up on the PA, etc. At work we laugh at it, cause he would be the first person to correct you if you were saying something wrong. However I find it extrememly disrespectful. The man was at my wedding, I work for him. Everyone else says its right, so its not that he doesnt hear it. I just think it is disrepectful and I do not think at this point I should have to say anything to him.

Issue#2
I need to have surgery on my foot. It got so bad about a month ago I got an infection in it. I went to work everyday with the pain. Limping, miserable, etc. I havent worn real shoes in weeks. This man has yet to ask me what was wrong or even acknowledge it. once again, other people have and right in front of his office and still nothing. Again I dont think I should have to say anything.

Ok so I guess I am just looking to see if I am wrong to be ****** off. Or am I just being to sensitive.

TIA

its stupid, and i think it just comes more from the fact that he would be the first to correct me and has if I said someoneones name wrong. I so not a person that cares about that but this just really irks me for some surgery. After the surgery I am out of there!!!

Issue 1: One of my bosses calls me by my maiden name as well and I am married over a year now. Also, at an old job of mine, my manager used to pronouce my first name wrong ALL THE TIME. My name is pronounced A-lee-sha. She would say A-lish-a. I used to get sooooo pizzed. I dont blame you for being annoyed one bit.

Re: Work Related question.... need opinions

Issue 1: no i really don't think i would waste anytime or energy being ****** at that.

My uncle keeps saying and spelling my new name wrong...i actually think itis funny

Issue 2: well yes i think i might be pissy.

But again...what are ya going to do. It sounds like your boss is somewhat self involved. So i guess i just wouldn't be keeping my expectations high that he would take notice of anything that didn't have to do with him.

It is funny you say he is self involved because I always say he is so self centered. For issue #2 that would mean he would have to care, and doesnt and admit that I would have to be out for a while for surgery which means that would inconvience him.

BTW, is there a difference in being self centerered and self involved?

You are right Red I cannot do anything but be pissy and just move on

Thanks ladies :)

I think a good boss SHOULD be aware of things like the problem with your foot. I think a good boss takes note of things that may impact a worker's productivity. But as someone mentioned, he may be overly self-absorbed.

IMO not really...
i think that it is just a degree difference really..
with self centered being a tad more than someone who is self involved

I often think that the self involved person does not mean any harm. They just are involved in what they are doing.
The self centered person is totally and completely about themself and doesnt care or have any regard for another person

It just goes down to the lack of respect. you cant even get my name right, and obviously doesnt care, so why would you care about my well being when it is just going to cause you an inconvience. oh well
