i used to do the payroll for a company i once worked in.....we had an employee that went 4 MONTHS without cashing his checks...
when we asked him why - he said that he was saving for a house, and he was just putting all the checks in a shoebox....and when he was 'ready to buy' he was going to the bank to deposit/cash them....

long story short....my boss had to eventually escort him to the bank, because he had in checks what totalled to a little over $30,000!!

I don't think they think much of it. Just be careful that the checks don't expire!

Whether or not they see it depends on how closely they track outstanding checks but it should be noticed when the bank account is reconciled. It can be more of a cash flow issue then anything and perhaps a nuisance if checks are o/s so long they need to be reissued.

We tend to think "hmm, he/she must not need it" vs "that's great he/she doesn't need it" so on that I agree with you.
