Yes. It is very emotional, but very good. I think I read it in one sitting.

Re: Lucky by Alice Sebold

I thought it was a great book, but I don't think I could read it on the train. There are parts of it that are upsetting, but if I remember correctly, I think the beginning is the worst part (in terms of upsetting...) I read Lovely Bones first and when I read Lucky, I realized why she was able to do such a good job of writing the other book Chat Icon

I am in the middle of this book now. It starts off so dark, I had to take a break. I am going to try and finish it this weekend. It is amazing that women are able to get past such a horrible experience.

It's sad but its a good and easy read - I think I read it in one sitting too.

I had to close the book on the train because I was trembling (partly from the cold too) trying to fight back tears, I was so angry for her. The bazaar way her rapist acted disgusted me even more....

I read Lovely Bones first and Lucky second, both were amazing but very emotional books. I cried my eyes out through both of them.

ETA: I can't wait for her to write another book!

What is the Storyline?

it's her memoir - she was brutally raped and beaten when she was 18, was a virgin... the book talks about her life since that tragic day....
