doing what i love again
i used to be an active singer and i was good at it. i made money and perfomed i many shows and gigs. my life took a turn and i stopped. i had no room in my life to continue my passion. its been 7 yrs since i took a lesson and performed. i definaltey lost my tone and technique. i want ot get back into it again, however i need a good vocal coach. does anyone know how i can find one?? i dont want to travel to the city. im looking in the south shore garen city, malverne or west hempstead area. thank u

Good for you for getting back into it! I am a professional flutist and a choral teacher (although, singing is NOT my strong point!). I was wondering if you are willing to travel to Stony Brook? I ask because if you call their music department, they can give you the names of their voice teachers. However, they are VERY expensive. But they could also recommend someone in your area. Also, call Hoftra's music department and ask for names. They are not as strong of a music dept. as Stony Brook (their private teachers are from Julliard and Manhattan School of Music), but they could definitely help you out.
