Hotels in Montauk

Suggestions? DH and I were going to go to Ireland for our 1 year anniversary in June, but some money issues came up, so we are postponing it until March 2007

We figured we can go out to Montauk for 5 days or so for a lot cheaper. Any hotels you can recommend? Maybe in the mid level price range?

TIA!!

The Sheperds Beach Motel...it's nothing fancy but it's clean and right across from the beach, and down by the bars and restaurants.

ETA: my sister got married at Gurney's this summer, and the place is amazing, they cater to you completely-soup to nuts-but it's $$$.

DH & I have been Montauk Manor a couple of times. It's really nice on the top of the hill near the train. They have a restaurant, indoor/outdoor pool and probably some other stuff. They have a lot of room options so the prices can really vary.

Gurney's Inn.... and Montauk Manor. I find most of the smaller motels to be kind of run-down, although there may be some that are not...

FOr Montauk Manoe, which rooms are the best? They have kitchens, right? That way we can have cereal, etc and have easy cheap breakfast!

We've stayed at Ocean Beach. It is not an upscale place, but it is waterfront property and most of the rooms have terraces or balconies that open to the waterview. They also have small refrigerators and a cooktop, if you wanted to bring food for breakfast and lunch.

I have found the rooms to be well maintained and very clean Chat Icon

We stayed at the Montauk Manor too. I think we had a one bedroom suite with ocean view and balcony. We had an entire kitchen, so one night we made dinner and also kept cereal and ice cream in the fridge. We went at the end of Feb. one year and it was FREEZING! There wasn't much to do since everything shuts down until May or June. Most restaurants were even shut.

I have stayed at the Montauk Yacht club, very nice right on beach. But I would go to Gurney's at that time of year b/c of the spa!

We stayed here last St. Patricks and it was a MADHOUSE!! Kids playing baseball against our wall....but that may be because they had a special rate that weekend...
