How many weeks am I if...
I conceived March 8th? I thought 2 but I saw something that stated it would be more...is that true and why?

They give you your due date based on the first day of your last period. They will most likely change your due date at your first sonogram.

So is it the first day of my last period (24) until today? Or is it from the time I ovulated (8th) until now? I am so confused. I cant figure out if i am 2 weeks or 4 weeks? Oy and its only the 1st month! LOL

Yes, it'll be determined from the first day your last period started. So usually by the time you ovulate, you are 2+ weeks into a pregnancy and when you get a BFP, you're almost a month pregnant. Weird, but that's how they do it.
Your due date will be more closely verified by a sono.

To add more confusion, I believe the gestational age (of the fetus) is from the time you conceived. However, your due date is always calculated from the 1st day of your last period.

I bumped this post. I hope it works. It is in regard to that 3rd trimester question that I had. Plug in your due dates...it will change the start date of the 3rd trimester. When I put in dec 1st it came up tomm begins 3rd trimester. BUT I totally agree with logic being 28 weeks. I actually love looking at this preg. calculator...its always helpful for determining what week I am. Hope it helps you girls.

OMG...I love this. I already knew the due date and conception based on my period and when I know we BD. It was off by one day for conception, I am certain of this b/c there was no BD that day...the next day there was!  But I love how it tells you when you're done with each trimester! Thanks for bumping!

I think the reasoning is that most women do not know the exact day they conceived, but they do know the first day of last period, so it's easier to date. I like it because it makes us "more pregnant" than we are...hehehe!

well clearly a man came up with it. but i'm sure it has more to do with most people can remember their period dates much better than being certain WHEN they were ovulating...and it's based on 10 lunar months, 10-28 day months.

I would think it would have to do with the fact that your body is getting the egg that will eventually get fertilized ready for fertilization during those two weeks.
