Playing question for the Sept/Oct mommies...
Now that I am off of work I have so much time to play with Emily, which I love -- but sometimes I just don't know what to do with her!
It seems like sometimes she just wants to stand there on various things --- the playwall, the couch, the bookshelf, the laundry basket, kitchen chair ---- everything!!! And I try to distract her and talk to her, play and show her toys and it doesn't require standing so she doesn't want anything to do with it.
And when she's not standing she wants to get into mischief! I tried to show her "safe" mischief like the tupperware cabinet in the kitchen but since I initiated it she had no interest.
I am just looking for play suggestions. I chase her around, play hide-and-seek with her playwall, try to get her to knock down blocks that I stack up really high -- for the most part she's not interested.
What are your babies doing for play now? Have any suggestions for me? Should I just "let her be?" I don't want to NOT play with her --- I want to interact with her.
TIA! Melissa

Re: Playing question for the Sept/Oct mommies...
We're in the exact same situation. I try my best to get out of the house 2x a day--once for a walk, and once "out" to avoid Katherine getting into trouble here at home. But sometimes it's unavoidable...
It's funny, you're so right...they're not happy with supervised "mischief!" I took the batteries out of a real remote control...does she want that...nah, she wants the one we use! But I digress...
We were home all day today, and I just couldn't play with her all day long, so during those times, I just let her go. She doesn't really like the Exersaucer or the Pack N Play for too long of a period. My house is mostly babyproofed and I allow her to pull up on whatever she wants (mostly). Although, she discovered the ability to go up the stairs today when I wasn't looking
I guess I'm not a lot of help, but just want you to know that I'm there too!

We never used the exersaucer or pack n play -- actually never even bought them -- so I don't have to worry about doing that.
I guess I just have to get out more with her. I'm broke this week -- waiting for a paycheck on sunday --- so we haven't really been going anywhere --- just walks -- so I guess I just need to take her to the park for the swings for a while --- because she is just not entertained by me anymore!!
