Question about Baby Movements right before you gave birth

to the mommies -

Did you notice a decrease in the babies activity right before you gave birth?

Im due in a week - and this baby is sometimes so active - probably right before i eat and go to sleep. I heard the baby decreases in activity just before you go into labor/ did you notice that from your experience?

Thanks.

Re: Question about Baby Movements right before you gave birth

Hi, well we are both at the same point except I know that my baby is coming on Wednesday - a scheduled C-section. Yes, I do feel movement is different. Remember there is not much room anymore. Keep me informed.

No, I did not notice that at all, actually. I was waiting for her to slow down, but it never happened. My daughter was out of control in there from the day she started moving right up until the end!!

Re: Question about Baby Movements right before you gave birth

Happened with me. The day before I delivered she hardly moved at all - I got sooooo worried that I ate every candy/juice under the sun just to get a little bit of movement. I was so close to going to L&D but I remember she moved a little before I went to bed so I figured, ok, I'll go to sleep and if in the morning she doesn't pick up I'll go to the doctor. So, I woke up at 5am with the worst contractions and later that day I had my little girl in my arms! Chat Icon Chat Icon

The baby definitely was not as active as he used to be right before he was born. There was no room left in there for him to do anything at that point!

Re: Question about Baby Movements right before you gave birth

I remember going to the DR and saying I was concerned because he wasnt moving as much.... the DR then said to me... well maybe the time is coming soon...

He explained that there is sometimes a decrease in fetal activity right before the baby comes...

Yes i noticed a decrease in his activity, then found out my fluid level was low so i dont know if that contributed to his lack of movement. I was induced 6 days past my due date.
