Which Lightweight Stroller

I know this has been asked a million times but now its my turn to ask. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I hate hate hate my Graco. She's almost out of the infant seat and I am selling it. I don't even want it for the next baby.

I want a nice lightweight stroller. Which do you recommend. It doesn't have to accomodate the infant seat because we'll probably end up with some sort of double stroller when we have the next baby.

We're heading to FL in May and I want something light but that still has a basket and reclines and oh has a sunshade?

Any recommendations?
I was looking at Maclarens but I don't know which one is good.

TIA

The MacLaren Triumph got a good review. Right now I am considering the Triumph, and the Ingelsia Swift.

I am in the market now (I have a Graco now which I don't mind but want somethign smaller) - I am starting to look at the MacLaren Triumph and one of the Combi strollers. Leaning towards the Maclaren but my baby is over a year now - some of the umbrella strollers seem too big for a little baby. I feel like ever stroller has pros and cons so I am still deciding.

I am looking at the Combi's too. Which one are you considering?

Anyone have the Peg Perego Aria? Its only 10lbs and can be used with an infant seat in the future.

I like the Combi Savvy but the BRU by me doesn't carry it. I looked at the other one they did carry - the only thing I didn't like was it didn't fold as compact as MacLaren and the handles weren't as high plus the seat seemed less roomy (my son is a big boy). But I like the bar and they way it reclines a lot.

I have to look into the Aria - I think my friend has that one. I haven't checked it out.

I think I'm going to order online from Albee baby but I guess I need to go to BRU to check them out.

I had a Combi (forgot which one) it was only @7 pounds. Loved it - it went to Europe twice & even strolled through the sand in Aruba.

Re: Which Lightweight Stroller

Baby Bargains recommended the Combi, but when we wheeled them around in BRU they didn't glide nearly as easily as the others so we ended up passing on them b/c I felt like pushability is important.

Baby Web Site

I am thinking of that website if the price is right. I need to go check them out in person I guess just to be sure before I order one.

Can I ask. Have you used it from the beginning? If we have another baby is it reasonable to think we could use this with the infant carrier?

Re: Which Lightweight Stroller

We have the Chicco C5 and I love it. The handles are high enough that DH and I aren't leaning forward. It folds up like an unbrella stroller and has a handle on the side to make it easier for carrying. It comes with a rain cover, a basket underneath and reclines. I got it at BRU for $89.99

Last month Nate and I went to NY and it was really easy to manuver by myself while going through the airport.

It has a strap to attach it but with the Graco Snugride I didn't find as secure as I would have liked

Another vote for the Chicco C5. We have a similar, older model and I love it. Very lightweight, easy to use, has a decent sized basket and reclines and is comfy.

Re: Which Lightweight Stroller

I have a Combi Ultra Savvy and I think it suffers from what most lightweights suffer from - lack of a basket. It holds very little underneath. I attached on of those mesh baskets on the back though and it works fine. Other than that I do like it alot. It had a interchangeable bar that allowed you to snap an infant seat into it. The seat reclines completely and it folds up small and easy - it has a strap and you can put over your shoulder rather comfortably. I did have a problem with it early on and I thought their customer service s*cked - a huge hassle - but other than that, no complaints on the stroller itself.

Re: Which Lightweight Stroller

I have a Capri - I havent used it yet- but this is the description that was on BRU.

it’s well-engineered, aluminum frame is lighter and folds up more compactly. There are also two reclining seat positions, a secure, 5-point safety harness, and a convenient zippered "parent" pockets for cell phones and keys, as well as a wide mesh chassis underneath for toys, bottles, snacks, and more. A removable canopy provides shade and protection from weather. Large tread tires make going over curbs and uneven walkways easier, so the overall effect on riders is not jarring. Going off-trail? Not with this stroller--it’s strictly for the predictable byways of city streets. --Diane Beall
