Does your mother get along with her MIL

does your mother have a good relationship with your paternal grandmother?

Mine get along fine, always have.

They get along really well although my mom thinks my grandmother can get a bit annoying at times. All in all, they really love each other.

She's always been supportive (especially financially) especially when my parents split, and I'll always be grateful for that.

My grandmother adored my mother and the feeling was mutual. She always told my mother that she was her favorite daugther in law.

My mom can't stand her IL's mainly because my grandparents fight like cats & dogs in public and make everyone uncomfortable. She never lets them stay at her house for more than a few hours. I can't really blame her.

When my grandmother was alive.....not at all!

They were very different people. In fact, my father decided when he was around 10 years old that he didn't like how his parents were raising their children, so he was going to do it differently when he had a family.

My grandmother was very nice to us, and I will love her always - but she wasn't a traditional grandmother

My mother never had a MIL...my dad's mom died when he was 11. My father got along with his MIL so well. She loved him!

My grandmother also told me to watch out for my DH's mom...she looks like trouble. I just wish she was alive so I could tell her that she was right.

My mom is pretty much my grandma's sole caregiver...(my dad's mom). She's more involved with my grandma than my dad is! My grandma loves her like a daughter.

My MIL so does NOT get along with her MIL. Actually it is her Step-MIL. Never ever got along with her.

My mom and my dads mom get along fine.... fine shes always lived far away and kept her distance... They'd always talk on the weekends... and we RARELY saw her..

My mom gets along fine with her mother-in-law fine - of course little issues may arise here and there - but they've had an ultimate respect for one another since i can remember.

interesting question.

Imy grandmother died when I was 20 & the didnt' live nearby, so I dont'have much of an adult perspective on this, but I think my mother didn't dislike her, but saw a lot of differences from how her family was.

I think that's how I kinda feel about my MIL.

From what my Mother has told me, she and my Dad's mother got a long very well. She was very old and very ill when my parents married and my mother being a nurse, took care of her until she died a year later.

Now my Dad and Mom's mom, is a different story

My fathers mother HATES my mother b/c shes Italian...they never got along and almost seperated a couple of times when i was reallyyyy young bc of her.....she is just a rude, nasty lady. She caused A LOT of problems througout the years w/her 3 sons....now they still dont get along but my mother is never rude to her.

My mother loves "gram" although gram can be a PIA a lot of the time. She lives with my parents and that makes it harder. She's 88 and "old school"..."My kids would never do that"..etc, etc etc.
We all love gram but sometimes mom will call 3X just to vent!

Not really. My dad's family is almost a duplicate of JT's family, or I guess the other way around. They both come from crappy families with wacked out mom's. My mom doesn't hate my grandmother, but she lives to cause my poor dad grief. God bless her that at 90, she can still make my father and mother nuts

my parents and inlaws get along like they have been best friends since elementary school. THey call eachother and go out together.

My mom got along better with my paternal grandmother than she did with her own mom.
