Naive question about houses....
I see people saying they have a ranch, tudor, colonial, etc. Forgive my city-dwelling ignorance, but what do each of the types of homes entail??? I am interested for when DH and I want to go and look.

great website posted already, but I have found that realtors like to call homes names that are popular now. My house was listed as a colonial-its not & its not even on the website posted above. Its an expanded ranch(has a second story). There was just an article in newsday highlighting how many houses are stating to look the same after renovations but with no true architectural style. People just start slapping gables & arch windows in & added front porches & they list it as a victorian.
