Level II today: to know or not to know
3PM I have my sono. Still haven't decided whether or not to know. I am so indecisive and wish someone would just tell me they "know" and not have it be because of the sono.

I didn't find out but I found it fun people guessing if it was a girl or boy. The majority (including me all guessed right).

Juliet...I feel bad for you bc you are so tossed between the 2. Dont leave it up to when you are there. Between dh and yourself see what u think is best. I didnt find out and yes i wish i could know especially since shopping would have been so easy but I cant wait for the day!

me too!! i love knowing what we are having!!! it was so exciting to find out. especially since everyone thought that it was going to be a boy and it was a girl. we had so much fun telling everyone that their guess was wrong!

I still say maybe have the tech write it down for you and then you and DH can decided at a later point if you want to know or not... make it more personal that way or just toss the paper out if you REALLY want to wait until the baby is born..
I had no doubt I needed to know at my Level 2 - and I still dont regret it for a second. It was just as big of a surprise for me at 20 wks as it would be at 40 wks!

It is a horrible place to be. I want to know and shop and decorate but I also think it is the greatest mental challenge to make myself wait. I was always the kid who peeked at Christmas presents, so I see this like a test of my willpower.

I peeked at my gifts too when Ii was little...but wasen't it different when u really didn't know what was in there????
Its a gift from God to be opened on your due date. that is my opinion.
I think about finding out the twins sex--because I have two already--but this is way more fun!!!!!!!!

I say wait. You can always find out by calling or on your next visit. You might regret finding out, but you'll never regret not finding out b/c you can always find out if you change your mind. (Did that make sense? )

Its a toughie! We decided not to. Originally DH wanted to, and I said that we will probably find out for the second one (since we'll have another child already to prepare), and while everything else is all new and unknown (kind of), we figured we'd preserve the mystery. But that's us.
I like the idea that if you change your mind, you can always find out later!! I'm amazed we've held out so long, but it gets easier.
I will say it is hard when looking at baby clothes. That was one of the few times we wished we found out, just to make things like that easier. But otherwise we're pretty happy where we are.
Good luck! Enjoy looking at your little one later today!

I totally agree with Flee! I know alot of people who chose to write it down. Some opened it, others didn't.
I found out and I don't regret it either.

I was not going to find out at first.. but dh wanted to know. Then my mom was like "are you finding out so I can shop???" lol... meanwhile I said .. you know what... weather or not I find out now or in 5 mo. I will love him/ her the same and it is still our little miracle... it will still be an unbeleivable experience. So we found out.......
At least I know what to buy and we have been buying pink ever since!!
But .. that is a decision you need to mmake yourselves and be sure of.
Good luck today.. enjoy it!! Its fun!!
