Question from a mom to be...
how necessary are newborn size clothes? I am assuming it depends on the size of the baby at birth but would 0-3 be ok for an average size baby?

Re: Question from a mom to be...
I asked this question before my DS was born also. I ended up going out and buying some things in newborn size to have just incase, but I left the tags on. Well, it turns out that DS was 9lbs. 5 oz. and the 0-3 fit him just fine. Actually at 3 weeks he has just about grown out of all of his 0-3 clothes!

Re: Question from a mom to be...
I had to send my husband out for newborn clothes b/c nothing in 0-3 fit my daughter, she was born 6lbs 9 oz and left the hospital at 6 lbs 3 oz so I guess it depends on your baby. She is 4 weeks old and just starting to outgrow the newborn size.

I would say not necessary - But I think that also depends on the baby. Emma was 8lb 6oz when she was born - I just used 0-3months, and they were fine.

Not necessary. Joseph was a nice sized preemie (6lb 7oz). I just rolled the sleeves up. THe newborn clothes definitely fit him better but you can get away with 0-3 mos.

Re: Question from a mom to be...
I say not necessary. My baby was only 7lbs 2 oz at birth and I didn't really have any newborn clothing and didn't feel I needed it - he grew into it quick. He was out of 0-3 by 2.5 months for the most part.
