They have really nice stuff and you can pick the frame and matting you want. We found ours there.
They have coupons online all the time so take a look..

i know there are a TON of online stores but was hoping to find a brick and mortar as i would like to see the art and frame prior to purchasing

HomeGoods is always a great place to check out. They have tons of art... but you do have to sift through everything.

there are a few galleries and antique stores in Locust Valley. They might have something. Huntington also has some nice art galeries. The other place might sound funny, but museum gift shops. Sometimes they sell art by unknown artists and other times you can get a print.
As for framing, I like corners on Jericho Tpke. They do a great job.
