Daycare needed for 1 day per week
Does anybody know of a place where I can enroll my baby just 1 day a week? I have to go back to work after 12 weeks and I will need somebody to care for my child on Fridays only. I can't seem to find anyplace that will do it for less than 2 days a week. I don't want to pay for something I don't need, and I don't want to put my baby in daycare for any more time than I have to.
Any suggestions? I live in the Stonybrook, Pt. Jeff, Setauket area.

I know, my center is a min. of 2 days.... but I can speak to my director and see if she'll make an exception
How long of a day you looking for?

I would really appreciate that. I will be looking for a full day. Like 7:30-3:30/4:40. I work nights and get home around 9-10. DH would drop off the baby on his way to work and I would pick up after I get some sleep.

Re: Daycare needed for 1 day per week
as much as you dont want to pay for any extra days for your child in daycare...(unless its with a private sitter, one on one) it is better as far as adjusting and interacting with other kids....to put your child in for at least 2 days per week. I am a former preschool/daycare teacher for 5 years (now im a stay at home mom) i know that it was much harder for the kids who came 1 day a week or even 2, then for the kids who were brought in at least 3 days. the child and parents seemed to adjust better because they had more time in the center and it was consisitant.
