Alec's Run/Walk
Honoring the memory of our nephew, Alec, who was backed over by an SUV when he was 16 months old.

April 29th at 9:30am
Walkers, strollers, baby joggers welcome

Thanks to your support, we are making a difference. We have raised awareness of the deadly blind zone behind all vehicles. Alec's parents have met with members of Congress and have helped draw attention to the fact that over the past several years there have been over 800 children tragically killed across the U.S. They continue to work with Kids and Cars to effect change.

All proceeds will be donated to Hospice Care Network, Kids-n-Cars: an advocacy group striving to make cars safer for their littlest passengers, and finally the Alec William Nelson Charitable Corporation that will donate funds to charities working with children.

same location as last year - Half Hollow Hills West High School, hopefully not the same weather...

What a wonderful cause in honor of your nephew!! If I can't participate is there a way that I can at least donate?

("Alec's playground" refers to a playground that was built with funds donated in memory of Alec just after the accident. The playground provides a safe place for underpriviledged children to play at a local Helping Hands Mission in Hungtington Station. Now that the playground is complete, the race enables the family to have a way to annually celebrate of his life while raising awareness.)
