Schools hire at the end of the summer, don't they?

I am sending out my resume to catholic, private and public school and not getting any response...I have a great resume (approved by my instructor), a great cover letter, copy of my certification (CE here in NJ - entry level)....I just hope the summer program I took wasn't $$$ down the drain!!!!!!! Yes they do!! I heard the best thing is to go to the school to deliver your resume.

I've been told that people resign just before the school year starts and then districts have to scramble to find replacements. Try to be patient and keep being persistant. Hopefully something will come through for you. Chat Icon

That is how I got my job now....and when i got my first job in a catholic school it was the week before school started and i called every catholic school and asked if they still needed people and I faxed my resumes to the schools that still needed people.

That is how I got my job. People find jobs in other school districts and create last minute vacancies. I was hired the Thursday before labor day.

I sure hope so. Rich has 107 resumes floating out there right now, and only 1 interview. Chat Icon

let me tell you the bext way is to hand deliver them at this point. I have gone into school in Aug to set up my classroom and have seen bundles of mail with resumes just sitting there and for god knows how long!!!!!

My aunt got her job on the second day of school!!!

I got my first job (leave replacement) in July... and my current one as well!!!

My brother is looking too... he has a permanent sub position, but we really are hoping that he will get something full time and probationary. He is getting discouraged as well and is thinking of moving off LI. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
