3 mos of BFing tomorrow! Have to celebrate
It's been positively awful for me so I'm shamelessly patting myself on the back here. I can't believe we made it this far. I'm going to try to keep it up, but if it doesn't work out at least I feel like 3 mos is a milestone. I've had vasospasms, low milk supply, a baby with tongue tie, and yeast and we're still suffering, but she's positively thriving so I'm trying as hard as I can to keep it going. It's the hardest thing I've ever done, including child birth b/c at least that was short and I had drugs! I told DH I want a bottle of champagne tomorrow night to celebrate  He thinks I'm crazy. Sorry this is so long I just wanted to share.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I feel for you. I've only been pumping and even that has been difficult. We're going on 4 months next week. I have a bunch saved in the freezer. I'm trying to get to 6 months on BM. My ped said that 2 months is most important and that if you need to stop, it doesn't really matter if it is 5 months or 6 -- just to try to get to at least 2.
So, you are doing great!!! Keep it up as long as you can, but if it is too much, you've done so much for your DD and definately deserve your pat on the back!

That is fantastic! I never realized how hard BFing would be until we tried rather unsucessfully. I gave up --- and it was a hard decision, so I give you so much credit for keeping on even through everything. You are doing a great thing for your little girl!

CONGRATULATIONS!
I've been pumping full time since DS was 2 wks old. He's about 5 1/2 months now, and I've just started slooowly weaning and decreasing my pumps. He'll probably be completely off breastmilk by a little after 6 months.
Let the La Leche League come and get me for saying this but, I AM SO HAPPY I'M FINISHING!!! Pumping S UCKS and I know just from my 2 short weeks of doing it that nursing is one obstacle after another!

That's great!!! I also never realized how hard BFing can be and I didn't even have all the problems you had. Good for you for sticking with it! You should be proud of yourself! We just hit 5 months and I'm not planning on stopping anytime soon.

Its funny- I never think to celebrate this, but you are right. At first it was so hard, but now I have been BF for 4 months- and I am back to work.
Women we need to be proud of our accomplishments more often, even the smaller ones. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Of course DD is thriving look at what you are doing for her! You absolutely deserve a pat on the back Nursing can be tough, I know I had my moments... Now nearing 5 months of exclusive breast feeding I wouldn't change a thing!
