What element do you display or what actions do you do that you think make you a good friend?

Loyalty, caring, empathy, support, thoughtfulness, I defend my friends etc.

I think that my best quality is that I'm always there to listen to my friends. I'm empathetic, caring, understanding, and patient.

Those are good! I think also listening to your friends and not jumping to conclusions makes a good friend.

Obejectiveness (if that's a word)

For me it is trust, honesty and unconditional love and defense. I have had friends my whole life that would stab me in the back, gossip about me and would sell my soul to the devil for fun. I truly do not trust people easily and I look for friends that will defend me and truly care and value me unconditionally. I believe in returning these same qualities.

I wonder how my friends would anwser this one?

I'd say honesty and that I try to see all sides of a situation.

Honesty is a must, but above all I would do anything for my friends within my ability, anytime of the day or night, and without a second thought.

I have 2-3 close friends that I know hands down would never leave my sider anything, I can tell them anything.
It took me a while to figure this out, because I was used to having friends that came and went or who lied or were selfish....Im the type who makes friends quick and just assumes they are as devoted to a friendship as I am..and thats not true at all...

Then I saw finally what true friends were and how they were always there and I in turn always act the exact same way with my dearest friends.

Ya know A friend of mine the other day when talking about me TTC said to me on the phone...I wish I could give you my eggs...she already has a daughter..I laughed and she said " Im serious Donna, I would do anything to have this dream come true for you" and I was so shocked, yet realized at the same time...I would do almost anything for her too....

This was a long answer , Im trying to say my true friends teach me how to be a friend in return ....It saddens me that some peoples ideas of being a friend come no where close to what a "good" friend should be...
