Going to The Melting Pot for dinner on Sunday!

DH and I are doing a belated Valentine's Day since we just moved here and were pretty busy this week. We've never been to a Melting Pot but have heard it's great. What do you all think?

Ooooh FH & I went to the one in Darien, CT last week...we got the combo for two - which included the cheese fondue, a salad, entree and choclate fondue...we loved the cheese fondue (I highly recommend the traditional fondue mmmm)...we could have done with out the entree part of the meal...it was too much food - we ended up throwing all of it out...plus I was a little skeeved out with all my meats just sitting on top of one another on a dish - raw none the less...

Next time we said we would just get the cheese fondue, maybe a salad and then the chocolate fondue...more than enough...have fun

We love the one in Tampa!!! I have never had fondue that compares. Dinner takes forever, we use to be there for hours, but it is so good. For dessert, it is pound cake, cheese cake and fruit. Apps we always got the cheese dip with beer.

Thanks for the tip! We would've gotten that combo for two also but maybe we'll just do the regular fondue.

I've been there and I LOVED it!!

I can't wait to go back someday.

ETA: I agree that the meat part was the least appetizing of the three courses. I could have totally just done cheese and chocolate.

I went to the melting pot in VA several years ago and it was great. DH and I live really close to the one in Darien so hopefully we'll try it soon. I've been dying to go there.

DH and I went there in NJ a few weeks ago.

Honestly the food portion I could skip.

Give me the cheese and the chocolate.

Which one in NJ? I know there are two of them, and have been dying to go.

Nothing better then gooey melted cheese and chocolate!

Re: Going to The Melting Pot for dinner on Sunday!

I have been the ones in greenville SC and also in Orlando..
Heres my thoughts on the melting pot..
I love the food, its fun and romantic BUT its tough to go when your really hungry.

When i went a few months ago in orlando I was starved and wound up actually dumping the whole plate of meats and veggies in instead of doing one at a time.
Waiter thought I was nuts but I was like " waiting a full minute or 2 between bites just wasnt cutting it for me that night"
I would go back not starving so I could enjoy it more..
Or am I just a pig

Re: Going to The Melting Pot for dinner on Sunday!

We went to the one in Darien after Christmas and we also got the fondue for two, with the cheese course and the entree course. I did like the entree course, we got the one with shrimp, chicken, duck and something else. The fondue was awesome and it was a great time - we weren't rushed out, we were able to sit and visit for a while.

We shared dessert with the rest of the table, so I think if we had gotten the cheese, the entree AND dessert it might have been a bit too much.

I went to one in Ohio years ago, it was so good! I wish we had one in NY. We got the cheese course, main course and the chocolate one. They were all excellent, but you can definetly get by without the main course one.

Have a great time! Chat Icon Chat Icon
