I called out of work today :(

I called out today for the first time due to the pregnancy and I feel guilty. I usually feel guilty when I call out but now I feel like I should pick and choose my days wisely. I am only 8 weeks and (knock on wood) have been doing pretty well but last night was horrible. I woke up at 3 in the morning and was so naseous until 6. I couldnt sleep at all and when my alarm went off at 6:45..I couldnt even move. There was no way I could have made it in. Has anyone else called out so early? Now I am kicking myself since its such a short week and already thursday but this morning I felt way different. This ever happen to you?

Yep,sounds like my pregnancy..not to scare you but thats exactly when it started for me, 8 weeks 'til 20 weeks Every morning from 5am to 1 pm. I lost 14 pounds in those weeks...just taking a quick shower was torture,the motion of the water would make me
On the upside..after that passed I never felt better in my life! I loved being preggo.

I do not work outside the house so I cannot relate but wanted to say, try not to feel guilty! We get days when we just feel so ill that it would be better for us to be home relaxing than any where else. Hang in there

Hi! Sorry you are feeling so ill. I am 10 weeks and have been soooo sick since 5 weeks.

I haven't missed work, but seriously thought of calling in sick.

I told my doc how sick I have been and perscribed a drug called Zofran. It is a tablet that dissolves in your mouth. My doctor said they have been using this drug for ten years to treat morning sickness. This tiny little pill has been my saving grace.


I still am nauseaous, but not as bad and only when the medicine wears off.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. The same thing happened to me. In the early weeks, I missed time from work alot (in my opinion) early on. I never missed a whole day but I definately went in several hours late on more than one occasion. By week 12 or 13 I started feeling better and I've been good since. Most of all, remember that you need to take care of yourself.

I too am not feeling well and I am at 34 weeks, I have decided to push my leave up by 3 weeks because I am getting no sleep and I just feell like crap..

The same thing happened to me. One Friday, I just couldn't do it. I had a lousy week as far as sleeping and being sick at night. Since then, things have gotten so much better and I feel so much better. I hope you feel better soon too!
