Washing baby items
I have been washing everything that the baby is going to wear. I have also been washing his blankets, changing pad cover and those types of things. Is it necessary to wash everything?

Re: Washing baby items
Don't wash all of the clothes since you're not sure whether or not the baby will fit into them, how fast they'll grow & if they're the right season. For example, my daughter was born in June - and someone gave me some adorable 6 months summer outfits...which I wound up giving to a stranger in Babies R Us since she was trying to shop for summer 6 month old clothes in October for her trip to FL.

Re: Washing baby items
I wash everything...but definately don't wash the bigger sizes (or take the tags off for that matter) until the baby is ready for that size. I washed and took the tags off of tons of 6 and 9 month neutral outfits that we got at the shower and now that I had a girl I wish I could exchange them for girlie things.

Re: Washing baby items
Definitely wash the stuff that is the size that your baby needs now. My friend didn't wash her son's stuff once and the poor baby had the worst rash reaction to it. It's worth the step if you can prevent a bad rash.
