Wish Me Luck...My dr appt is at 8:45AM TOMORROW 1/3
IF I don't sign on tomorrow with an update....I'm sure y'all can figure out they've admitted me! If so, I'm hoping to be back home by the weekend....I don't do well in hospitals, I much prefer being at home.

All I can think they would do at this point is strip your membranes. There is really no reason for them to induce you at this point. Just try to relax. I hope you aren't overdue but as you see that's been the trend for a lot of us so just be patient she will come when she's ready. Get used to it. She's in charge now not you and it pretty much stays that way.

good luck, i must ask, why would they induce you when you're not even late? they shouldn't even strip your membranes YET, you didn't even hit your due date! Relax and breathe Shana, don't hurry away this tme, you'll regret it once you are on the throws of chaos when the baby comes home.

Did you FM Beth? (BXGELL) I remember something about them striping her membranes...and Im pretty sure she said it was painful AND it didnt "help her out"...

be careful, make sure that the doc is not doing it for his/her own benefit (for insurance reimbursement), lots of docs "help move along the process" to benefit themselves not the patient, you should only have this done if you are very late, or for health concerns for baby/mom. Ifsnot, you have at keasy 10 more dAYS until they should consider inducing.

Good luck Shana!! Dont be dissapointed if they dont do too much though ok? Usually unless your BP is up and or the baby is showing distress, they will let you go at least a week or so past due date, so just try to relax...shje will be here soon enough... Try to enjoy the last few days of being baby free. Its all gonna change so drastically.

um, what benefit are you referring to? They get paid either way whether I go a day early or a week late.
My sil got her water broken early because she was in the same situation....the baby was EXTREMELY low, her dialtion had stalled at 2 or 3 cm, and she was in alot of discomfort. She delivered 3 days early and ALL they did was break her water for her.

I just meant if you are seen bya group sometimes a certain doc will be on call and will want that reimbursement for himself so he will move things along. This happens here in my town to a very well known practice. If a certain doc is "on call" they will make sure that things are "moved along" so that he gets the delivery. It's a little scary to me and there was a huge write up on this in the NY times last monh, how women were induced too early forthe benefits of financial gains of the practitioner.
Having a baby who is low and stalled dialation when you;re not even late shpuld npot be a reason to induce, but hopefully you won't even need the help, hopefully you'll be on your way al by yourself!!!
