Teachers- CITE classes
I registered for a class in March. I recieved a letter stating they want a copy of my Immunization records??
The class only meets five times...Im not enrolling in a full time program!! Anyone else take classes through this program? Are they really going to ask for them??
Thanks
Edited for poor grammar due to frustration!!

Re: Teachers- CITE classes
When I went to Suffolk CC for 6 extra credits, I had to provide copies of all my immunizations. It was a pain, to the point that my doctor just gave me a simple blood test, as no one could find my original records. They wouldn't even let me register until I could prove I had all my shots.

Re: Teachers- CITE classes
AAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry! I took 2 CITE classes through Touro for extra certification. When I was done, I sent away for my transcripts and also had them sent to the state. I was on a BIG deadline to get these to the state because certification requirements were changing. Anyway, I knew and work with people taking the same courses. I got that letter and they didn't. I was surprised, but sent a copy of my bc with the record on the back and had my school nurse sign the sheet.
In late November, I receive a letter from NYS stating that I was missing my courses and that was holding up certification. Well, my credit card was charged for the transcripts, but alas, none. Now, 6 months later, I'm STILL trying to get this resolved, STILL trying to get a copy of my transcripts (which they meaning Touro, state was sent).
It's BS because you are not a student, but are just taking the credits. Call and inquire but expect issues.
This was more of a Touro thing than a CITE thing. Just provide them with a copy rather than risk having things held up.

Re: Teachers- CITE classes
sorry, I'm not taking CITE courses, but i did have a similar situation (so i'm responding jsut in case is has something to do with the school itself rather than just the program).
Both last semseter AND this semester, i got letters saying that i was going to be removed from my classes if i didnt provide them with my immunization records within a few days. i had already checked all of this out, and you Only need to do that IF you are taking 6 or more credits. i was only taking 4, so i was exempt from that rule. But, i still had to call the admissions dept or student health services (i forget which one), and they cleared that for me.
good luck! eventhough its not major, the little things like this are so annoying!!

Re: Teachers- CITE classes
The grad credits are actually from St. Rose. But I took a St. Rose class over the summer through NYSUT, and I didnt have to do this.
yes, its just an annoying thing to do that I did not anticipate. Im going to ask some teachers in my building if they have done this.

Re: Teachers- CITE classes
I would definitely send them in. I took classes and needed it quickly, and not having the immunizations affected the state certification.
