I don't know if they're what you have in mind, but Martha's Vineyard and Block Island are pet friendly for the most part.

Here is a great website that I have found helpful. We took our dog to Bar Harbor, Maine Last year. There was a great kennel (more like a doggy hotel) there where she stayed and we could take her out whenever we wanted. We stayed at a great B & B for a few nights. eta: We also camped one night with her in acadia state park. She loved it, I hated the camping. try this site: you can do an advanced search & put in pets allowed and see what comes up.
this site allows you to rent condos, apartments & houses pretty much anywhere. cyber rentals
or search by region: http://www.cyberrentals.com/World/r1.htm
YOu can always negotiate the prices, dh always does that part
