Open Houses and Rain
Do they ever cancel open houses due to excessive rain (like today!)? We were going to go to a few, but I'd hate to show up and they're cancelled!

we cancelled our's because of a snow storm once.....but i dont' think rain would be a big reason to cancel.
of course, i havent' seen what it's like outside yet....so i have no idea how bad it might be

Yes, we canceled one of ours late last summer when it was raining like this and the roads were very flooded.
BTW: We had to go out this morning to NSUH at Manhasset... I saw 6 accidents on the road. Everyone should really stay put.

I actually like to go to open houses in the rain - it's a GREAT time to check for leaks in the roof, windows, basement, etc.
It's also good for checking how damp the basement gets.

I loved going to open houses in the rain and snow storms.

Hiya Laura!  Yep, we went to 5 or 6 open houses - none of which were cancelled :) - and are slowly getting an idea of what we want and don't want. Not sure when we'll actually take the plunge, though!

They didn't cancel the open house at the house right behind mine. Looked like people were still showing up in the rain.
