First Birthday gift from parents
What did you guys get your little ones for their first birthday? I'd like to get her something special, but I really can't think of anything.
ILs are getting her a Little Tykes playset for the backyard
My mom got her some toys, clothes and a silver jewelry box that's engraved with a special message from her.
Thanks! Cathy

I am not a parent yet but i would say the best thing you can get a one year old is a savings bond for as much as you can afford. I just cashed in $25 savings bonds from my communion 23 yrs ago and got almost 900 bucks!

I agree, I got a lot of interest on my old bonds, but DH is in finance and refuses to buy them, he thinks he can get a better rate of return. So far so good, but I think he's being silly.

Seriously? I thought bonds maxed out after a certain point/amount of time...

Re: First Birthday gift from parents
I really didn't know anything about them I just took them to the bank and they told me how much I was getting and I was shocked. I do believe there are some that do expire and some that don't but I' sure they can tell you at your bank. I said that also because she is 1 and she won't really appreciate anything you get her right now anyway. You can probably do that next year too-my nephew is 2 and has a VERY short attention span!
