OT - Wedding related ** THE COOLEST favor idea EVER !!!!! LOLLL
My MIL just mentioned to me one wedding she went to. it was a late Saturday wedding, and what they gave instead of favors, ready for this ??
I thought it was the cutest idea.....
The Sunday paper and a bagel !!!!!!
Is that cute or what ?????????
Does anyone think its cheesy? be honest 
I just thought it was so creative and actually USEFUL unlike most favors

My cousin did this at his wedding 7 or 8 years ago. When you walked out there was a cart with a guy handing out the sunday times and a dozen bagels to each couple. It was great!!!

I don't think it is cheesy but i don't think i would do it...
If i attended a formal nite wedding and ate all that food....the last thing i would want is a bagel
And how do you keep them nice and fresh?
How do you know it is a kind of bagle the person wants?
ehhhhhhh..i give it props for originality...
but not something i would do

Most reception halls offer it as an extra...a "breakfast cart"  We're doing it, b/c our reception ends at 1am

I got that as a favor once years and years ago -- I loved it!! I thought it was original and clever!
It was pretty cool that we were all set for Sunday morning with the paper and breakfast.

Lots of people do this. Its really not THAT original - My relatives have been doing the same thing for weddings since before I was born ( sometimes in addition to a more traditional favor)

yeah its very cute and usually very appreciated. I know I would prefer that over most the favors I get at weddings

Well the bagel would be for the next morning not the ride home
and do we pick what wedding favors we get if its two or 3 different styles, i guess what kinda bagel you get is the luck of the draw, cant be that bad, or who knows if they had choices

yea i kinda figured that but me...i like a nice fresh bagel..(i am a bagel fanatic)
that bagel by the next morning IMO would be BLEH....
i mean it is one thing if the hall offered it ..
just don't think i would go out of my way to do it as a favor

true true, nothing like a "hot out of the oven" bagel !!! If youre a bagel fanatic,you MUST try OMG Im blanking out, this great place in the city, its a chain bagel place... was it picka bagel ?? OMG huge, soft outrageous bagels !!!!

I went to a wedding last year that did this. Got a bag of bagels, creamcheese and I think a coffee packet on the way out. Ate them the next morning and it was great. Loved the idea.

I've been to one wedding where they did this...and this was in addition to the favor!!! 
I loved the idea...took the bagel...did not eat it though ...and they gave out cups of coffee too...which I did drink on the way home...

Man...if I had to do my wedding over again (I was married over 8 years ago), it would be soooooooooo differrent. Might not even be the same dh.

I did this for my wedding last year. I had bagel boss set up gable boxes with two plain wrapped bagels, cream cheese, butter, jam and a coffee packet. I wanted to offer the paper too, but newsday just wouldnt work with me on it.

I have seen that and it is very cite...
Even though that wasnt our favor, our guests were all given a hot pretzel, coffee and hot peanuts on there way out of my hall...
