Friends selling house we want? Please help....
Last week we found out our very good friends who live five minutes from us are moving to NH (he got a really good offer!)... They put their home on the market (the home is in lovely condition and we think that they are asking a pretty fair price)... We like it and are considering putting in an offer!!! We were smart so far because we went to see it today with THEIR agent who will get full commission.... If we like it, do you think we should bid on it? Or do you think we should not get into business with friends?
I am scared b/c I don't want to lose their friendship should the deal go south and I also don't want to stop them from getting the best offer they could get... But, inspections could fall through and we could ask something of them and make them have to do it... What do you all think? Pls help.... My friendship with them is more important!!!

If you really like the house liek its your dream house and you guys are really good friends then I would do it.
Im sure if something is wrong with the house and with the offer, you guys would be very fair to eachother.
It could be a touchy area, but I think if the friendship is as strong as you say it is, you should be fine.
Good luck!!!

I think that if you like the house you should def. bid on it. You will have an engineer come in so you'll know if there is anything seriously wrong with it. Try not to let your friendship get in the middle and go about this as if it were any house. This could work out great for the both of you.
I think the only problem would be if pricing was an issue. Once you get past that it should be all good.
Good luck and keep us posted!

thanks so much.... we are going back tomorrow to look at it again. I think you are right- we all need to treat it like a typical business transaction..
